Terms and conditions

Proper Cooked reads recipe links, converts ingredients to Australian measures, files recipes into your cookbook and builds shopping lists you can share. We provide it as is and may change or withdraw features.

You need an account for a cookbook and saved lists. Give accurate details, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us if someone else gets access. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old.

You keep ownership of the recipes, notes and lists you add. You give us a licence to store, display and process that content so we can run the service, and to show it in the shared Library where you have made it public.

Only add content you have the right to add. Do not upload anything unlawful, misleading, abusive or infringing.

When you paste a link, we read the published page and extract the ingredients and method so we can convert measures and build a list. Recipes stay credited to the original publisher and link back to the source. Recipe methods are not protected by copyright in the same way as creative writing, but we respect publishers' wishes.

Publishers can have their content removed and their site blocked from future ingestion through the takedown page. We action requests promptly.

Do not scrape, resell or bulk export the Library.

Do not attempt to break, overload or probe the service.

Do not use the service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.

We can suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

Conversions, pack sizes and quantities are estimates produced automatically. Check them before you cook, shop or serve, especially for allergies, dietary requirements and food safety. Proper Cooked is not a substitute for your own judgement or professional advice.

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may take it down for maintenance.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where we are permitted to limit liability, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or if we stop offering the service. Sections that are meant to survive termination will do so.

We may update these terms. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Contact us at hello@propercooked.com.
